Learn And Teach, March 7 - 16, 2022
This project enriched our world and project topic about ecology is crucial for human wellbeing and prosperity. We have received new
knowledge of the interdependence between people and nature that is vital for food production, we have learned that maintaining clean air and water is crucial for for us and future generations, we have learned that sustaining biodiversity in a changing climate is a must!
First of all we have learned what is mangrove and when we learned it importance, now we know that mangroves play a number of ecological roles from fixing sediments to acting as nursery site for young fish. Mangrove forests are also a source of food, medicine and firewood for local populations. Mangrove forest is thus a multipurpose ecosystem, and ecologists’ understanding of
this unique ecosystem has shown they are very sensitive to change and require sustainable management to preserve their biodiversity.

What we have to do to be sustainable:
- Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Cut down on what you throw away. Follow the three "R's" to conserve
- natural resources and landfill space.
- Volunteer. Volunteer for cleanups in your community. You can get involved in protecting your
- watershed, too.
- Educate. When you further your own education, you can help others understand the importance
- and value of our natural resources.
- Conserve water. The less water you use, the less runoff and wastewater that eventually end up in
- the ocean.
- Use long-lasting light bulbs. Energy efficient light bulbs reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Also
- flip the light switch off when you leave the room!
- Plant a tree. Trees provide food and oxygen. They help save energy, clean the air, and help combat
- climate change.
