Inspired by the vitality and the constant renewal of the water-flow, Kaunas became exceptional among other Lithuanian cities by an independence, entrepreneurship and a strong community sense of the citizens.

Huge feasts were organized for welcoming the honourable guests, whose visits would turn the whole city into a great celebration. Court entertainers, musicians and jokers, making sure the castle was filled with laughter, and the worries replaced with the easiness for a while... Looking down from the castle rook, the Grand Duke of Lithuania Vytautas The Great would dream about an astounding city which would live for centuries. A city of a strong and noble nation.
Today Kaunas castle and the surrounding park is a popular area for meetings and relaxation. It is a place where one is most likely to find the inspiration, peece, make new friends or even fall in love. Newly married couples like to rush right from the City Hall to the very confluence point of Nemunas and Neris. From the day of their marriage and on, just like the rivers, two seperate lives are joined and will be flowing together…
